I picked up one of these PI Zero Wireless modules. You will need the Micro-USB to USB expanders, and a Micro-USB power supply. After burning a Raspberry Pi OS-32 bit to the SD card it worked fantastic. I was able to run Python 3, clang, git, add users, surf the internet etc. It has a full desktop HDMI gui. It is a little light and slow when opening web pages, but as a console device it works very well and I had no issues SSHing into it from remote. I set mine for headless boot to console. It has the 2.4Ghz wifi built in and that worked good all the way up to WPA2 encryption. I cannot find anywhere without going to China that can touch the price either. Size wise its the same size as a memory stick for a laptop. I have not tried runnning an external hard drive off the USB expander but as long as the current was in spec it should work.
